Vicki Lynn Lervick

Vicki Lynn Lervick, 46, of Stanwood, WA, died suddenly Monday, July 30, 2007, in the Columbia River, while trying to save another person's life.
Born September 13, 1960, in Seattle, Vicki was the forth child of Edward and Joyce Hampton. She grew up in the Fauntleroy area of West Seattle and graduated from Chief Sealth High School in 1979.
Vicki was enthusiastic and passionate about all her endeavors. She was a real estate entrepreneur and loved buying property, giving the place the "Vicki" touch. In the summer Vicki could be found gracefully laying down spray as she snaked through the buoys in a water ski course or teaching someone else to ski. Winter would find her on the ski slopes. Her life-long love for horses led her to be very active in the equestrian community.
She met Michael O. Lervick and married him on May 24, 1998.
Vicki is survived by her husband, Michael; daughter, Amy Mandin; sons, Karl and Paul; her mother, Joyce Hampton; brother, Mark Hampton, all of Stanwood; sister, Gayle Leberg (Walt), of Mill Creek, WA, and Kristi Murti (Ben), of San Mateo, CA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roger and Linda Lervick, of Stanwood; also a very large extended family on the Hampton side and on the Lervick side.
There will be a Celebration of her Life held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m, on Sunday, August 19, 2007, at the family home in the Kayak Point area. The family Web site for question and directions is at http://vicki.polychrome.us
Those wishing to make donations may make them to the Lervick Family Village. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral home, Stanwood.

I went to elementary school with Vicki and grew up just below her home on brace point. Fauntleroy elementary school was where we met--now 41 years ago. For 12 years through high school we shared a spirit forged by those formative years. A common neighborhood. A love for life. A creative spirit. A free spirit. A spirit one never forgets no matter the time and distance and a GREAT SNOW and WATER SKIER. That was Vicki.

Spirit....

Vicki's enthusiasm and zest for life touched everyone she met.

I didn't know Vicki, but was in Crescent Bar when the accident happened. I'm just now able to put a face with this terrible accident. Please accept my heartfelt condolences - you're all in my prayers.

Spirit. Delightfully contagious.
How could she not with her...

Oh Vicki,
how special you were
so determined
such a free spirit
full of optimism
creativity and hope
independent
living your life so fully
such an unique individual
never caring about being the way others are
always finding your way
creating a way
creating your way
to live your life so fully
to get every bit out of this life
excited about each challenge
seeing challenges as opportunities
that you could solve
so capable in so many...

Vicki was a new Lake Stevens Waterski Club member. We didn't have a chance to get to know her very well through the Club, but she seemed to be a wonderful person. On behalf of the Waterski Club, I would like to express our condolences and sympathies.

Boundless excitement for skiing, boating, hanging out with friends and family, Vicki's tremendous spirit will be missed. Take Care Mike, Amy, Carl and Paul, you're always welcome!

Dear Mike and family,

In my short couple of years collaborating with Vicki in her volunteer community leadership, I was inspired by her unflagging energy and creative thinking. She was a true visionary and good friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your loss.
