On Monday, February 26, 2024, Vicky Diane Crouch, loving wife, mother, and friend, passed away at the age of 69.
Vicky was born on October 20, 1954, in Winston Salem, North Carolina to Marvin Maynard and Betty (Branch) Hammock. Vicky, born with cerebral palsy, never let it define her. She was a strong, hardworking, and stubborn woman, who never wanted to be treated anyway but equal. This was evident upon anyone meeting her.
In 1979, when Vicky was 24 years old, she traveled from North Carolina to Des Arc, Arkansas with some friends. There, she met Randy Crouch. It was love at first sight.
They had a short engagement and were married in Des Arc on September 15, 1979, with a honeymoon to the White County Fair.
Vicky worked at Paslode Factory for many years beginning in Des Arc and then transitioning to Augusta, Arkansas when the factory moved. She loved her family and friends like no other. One of her favorite things in life was to travel to Winston Salem several times a year to spend time with her family. Vicky was known for her laugh, not holding back her opinion, and a knack for telling it like it was. She loved driving around town and keeping up with local news by visiting with people from town at the beauty shop and the Chunky Monkey.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Randy Crouch, son Nicholas (Bridget) Crouch of Des Arc, sister Sonia Hammock and nephew Joseph Coalson of Winston Salem, NC. Vicky lived her last years for the frequent visits from her beloved grandsons, Owen Mills and Jameson Randall Crouch. She loved nothing more than being a grandmother and making her family laugh. Additionally, Vicky leaves behind a host of friends that never seemed to help her stay out of trouble!
Vicky is now at peace, joining her parents Maynard and Betty Hammock, and a multitude of other family and friends. The family wants to thank the staff at Des Arc Nursing And Rehab for their wonderful care of Vicky over the last few years.
If you wish to donate in honor of Vicky, please consider the Des Arc Elementary School to further their efforts on new playground equipment.
