Victoire Toof "Vicky" Johnson

Mrs. Pierce had a lifelong impact on me. I studied French with her for three years at CMR. I was a daughter to a military family and we were in Great Falls from Canada. I treasured Mrs. Pierce's approach to teaching french language and literature. It was incredible. I also babysat Drew when he was a baby. Vicky and I really did become dear friends. Mrs. Pierce was my French teacher at CMR and I adored her. Her classes were challenging but so rewarding. I loved learning French and worked hard to attain high grades. She was a memorable teacher and touched my life deeply. Sincere condolences to her family.

I was among those students in Miss Toof's very first French class when she came to teach at Great Falls High. She set lofty goals for her students, and it her classes were challenging. The French she rigorously taught me has stayed with me my entire life. It broadened my world view, encouraged me to travel and gave me a love for France. May she rest in peace, and may Drew derive comfort in knowing that his mother's dedication to teaching was deeply appreciated by many.
