Victor Cantillo, 70, of Long Branch passed away peacefully on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch surrounded by his loving family.


Born in Newark, NJ Victor grew up in Livingston. He lived most of his life in Brick before moving to Edgewater Park and then Long Branch.


Victor was a graduate of Seton Hall University and received his Master’s of Business Administration from Monmouth University.  He was a Business Administrator for Somerdale Borough and then West Long Branch for many years before retiring in 2016. During Governor Christine Todd Whitman’s tenure in office, he served as her financial advisor and also held positions for NJ Transit and the Educational Facility Authority.


He was a lifelong Republican and served on the Brick Township council for 8 years, during which he served as council President. Victor was an avid art and photography enthusiast and was known for his classic vinyl record rock and roll collection. Although his real passion came later in life when he became a grandfather. His love for his grandchildren was all consuming, most noticeable in his ear to ear smile whenever they were together.


The son of the late Joan Cantillo, he was predeceased by his brother, David Cantillo and brother-in-law, Richard Kight. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Kjellberg Cantillo; his daughter Lauren and (James) Johnstone ;  his son David and (Gina) Cantillo; his step-son Zachary Kjellberg and step-daughter Karleigh Kjellberg; two sisters Sharon Cantillo and Stefanie Cantillo Hull and brother-in-law Derek Hull; four granddaughters McKenna, Emily, Addison, and Mackenzie; and one grandson, Hunter; nephew Jared Kight; nieces Ashley DeAzevedo and Hayley Serena Canete as well as many cousins, colleagues and good friends-among them, his lifelong best friend, Carmine DelSordi.


Visitation will be Friday from 3:00pm- 7:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Hwy.88, Brick. A Funeral Service will be held at 6:30p.m.  Cremation will be private.

Vic was my cousin and growing up, he was 8 years older than I was. In my grade school days I referred to him as my big cousin, and I looked up to him. In his youth he was build like our Grandfather, and both had amazing God given strength.
