Not sure what to say?

I was greatly saddened to learn of Victor Greene's death. He was a friend for almost a half century, a generous colleague, and an inspiring scholar, who will be sorely missed in his chosen field of research, and by his many friends.

I deeply mourn the loss of a friend and colleague; a major figure in American immigrant and ethnic studies . He also played an important role in Polish American studies.

Victor was so helpful to me in my research on Polish American history--generous with his time and knowledge, encouraging to new scholars, and one of my mentors in the Polish American Historical Association. Godspeed.

Victor Greene enormously influenced my scholarship and teaching. His intellectual generosity shaped a generation of historians. He will be greatly missed.

Dr. Victor Greene will be sorely missed. I worked with him since I started at the UWM Libraries almost 25 years ago. He was a wonderful educator. Beth Traylor

My deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Victor Greene.

Professor Greene was an outstanding teacher and historian; I thoroughly enjoyed his courses on American Ethnic History while at University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. After my graduation, I would stop by Victor's office every few years for an engaging conversation about current happenings, history and music.

Thank you Dr. Victor Greene; you will be truly missed!

Laura you have my deepest condolences as it was a great pleasure meeting Victor an you. Stay Well Rose weinsrein

Once he promised to lecture to a music class I was teaching, and he forgot to come. After it looked as if he had forgotten it, I went to my office to call him. Since there was another instructor in the class room, I decided to wait for him at the outside door of the building. But after some time, I gave up and...
