VICTOR L. HACKMAN, SR. LIEUTENANT COLONIAL U.S. AIR FORCE RETIRED age 72 of Papillion, Nebraska and formerly of White Pigeon, Michigan died peacefully surrounded by his family at his home Tuesday morning December 14, 2004 following a fifteen year battle with leukemia.

He was born November 22, 1932 in White Pigeon, Michigan a son to Oscar & Olema (Oldfield) Hackman.

In 1976 he retired from the U.S. Air Force following 21 years of dedicated service. While serving his country he and his family lived in many places all over the world including New York, Maine, Texas, California, Alabama and Thailand. Following his retirement he settled in Papillion, Nebraska where he became an insurance agent representing BMA Insurance Company and Harvest Life Insurance Company.

Vic graduated from White Pigeon High School with the class of 1950 where he excelled in athletics and later graduated from Florida Southern University in Lakeland, Florida.

On September 25, 1954 he married Donna McFall in White Pigeon.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Donna, 1 Son, Victor “Skip” Hackman, Jr., 3 Daughters and their husbands, Roxanne & Dave Yost, Lee & Harvey Wright, Leslie & Dennis Roy and Sharri & Joe Missman, 12 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, 1 Brother, Calvin & Theresa Hackman, 1 Sister, Sharon & Ray Vinstra, 1 Sister-in-law, Barbara Hackman and several nieces and nephews.

His parents and 2 brothers, Robert R. Hackman and David O. Hackman preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends at the Bethany Funeral Home 8201 Harrison St., LaVista, NE, 402-593-6100 Thursday from 3:00-5:00 & 6:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral services celebrating the life of Victor Hackman will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Faith Presbyterian Church in LaVista. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Fairview Cemetery in Papillion where full military honors will be conferred by the Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard.

The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mr. Hackman’s memory consider the Faith Presbyterian Church or the Sarpy County Kiwanis. Envelopes are available at the HACKMAN-Foglesong Funeral Home of Sturgis.
