Victor Ernest August Krueger, 85, of Cloquet, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. He was born March 3, 1922 in Geise, Minn., to Richard and Martha (Schoenrock) Krueger. He moved to Cloquet in 1951 where he had a hobby farm and did gardening and woodworking. Victor served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was one of the oldest members of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cloquet, and served as the head usher for 11 years. Victor worked as a machine operator for Conwed Corp./USG for 37 1/2 years and was a life member of the International Paperworkers Union Local 158. He was also a life member of the Hebert-Kennedy VFW Post 3979 of Cloquet; and the 12th Armored Division Hell Cats, and attended many reunions. Victor loved spending time at Pine Lake in Finlayson, caring for his lawn and hunting; but especially spending time with his grandchildren. Victor was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Violet; and one brother, William Kump. He is survived by two sons, Dennis (Bonita 'Bunny') Krueger of Duluth, and Robert Krueger of Duluth; two daughters, Debra (David) Buczynski of Cloquet, and Kathleen Krueger of Duluth; one brother, Woodrow (Dixie) Krueger of Oakdale, Minn.; two sisters, Viola (Victor) Hanson of West St. Paul, and Martha 'Mardy' Youngberg of Willow River, Minn.; four grandchildren, Jason Krueger, Azur (Chris) Coleman, Amber Buczynski, and Matt Krueger; numerous nieces and nephews; and one anxiously expected great-grandchild. VISITATION:5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007 in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cloquet. The visitation will resume on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007 from 12 noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service also in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Military Honors will be presented by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. The family has selected Nelson Funeral Care of Cloquet to assist them with arrangements. Deepest sympathy to the family. Your dad(grandfather)was a good neighbor and friend to me and my family. We will miss seeing him in church when we stop by. We shared alot of good laughs with him.
