Not sure what to say?

Victor's memory will never fade. My mother, the late Florence Major Thompson (Bates), and I were blessed with Victor's and his family's friendship.

Although our paths crossed to infrequently, I always felt great respect for the special person you are to all who were graced by your presence in their life. The youth of the San Gabriel Valley have lost a tremendous mentor, role model and friend. Both Irene and I will keep your family in our prayers.

Victor,

Even though we just met this past Summer you have had a huge impact on my life. The compassion you had for the kids in your program was evident in your relationships. My Son would look forward every week to play basketball. Over Thanksgiving vacation I had mention to a few friends how excited my son was to play basketball and
what a great guy Victor was for helping every one regardless of skin color. He was a hero to all!!!
During this difficult season in life I pray...

Victor was a blessing to so many lives. Sending prayers of peace to Shelly and sons. Thank you for sharing Victor with all of us! God bless!!

My son played football and my daughter played basketball with the Brotherhoood Community Program. I never knew Victor personally but he was always around the games and was such a positive influence. It is overwhelming to understand why God brought him home so soon ... My thoughts and prayers go out to the family but especially to our community and its youth. This leaves a very big hole.

Victor was a man of great ethics, as well as, an inspiration to me. Shelly, Kristian and Kameron you are in my prayers.

Shelly, Kristian, and Kameron, we are so sorry for this tremendous loss. Victor was one of the most caring people I have ever met. In 1997, Peter and I were in a devastating car accident. Peter was severely injured and our van was totaled. Victor was instrumental in getting us a used van from the YMCA for $1. We would have no car for a very long time because the kid that hit us had no insurance and we only had collision insurance if we were at fault. So we and our 6 children were stuck....

Shelly,
Victor was the only one who could convince my son to reconsider basketball as a sport. He lacked confidence in the game when he was younger. Victor and I playfully quarreled about Deven's skill level and he was always right. I hope you find comfort in these memories.
