Read MoreI loved Victor and Teresa so much and miss them. I loved that whenever I visited Victor baked me a pecan pie. Even at 99 he never measured ingredients or set the timer on the over. I never had such good pecan pies. I have so many good memories of time spent with him and Teresa.

Vic was my Dad, Leonard Houghton´s first cousin. When Vic´s mom died his father sent Vic to live with my dad´s parents on the farm by Roxbury, Kansas. He was very special to our family and he and Teresa visited us on the farm many times when I was a kid. As an adult I visited him several times in Colorado and once in Yuma. He always baked me a pecan pie. He gave me the recipe and told me his special ingredient. The last time I saw him was in Broomfield in 2015 and he made me the best pecan...

I will miss baking him his favorite Pecan Pie, a recipe that he so graciously shared with me. Victor will be remembered by my whole family as we all got to share his last few birthdays with him. I loved to hear him tell a story and loved that he loved a good laugh. Forever in our hearts Victor. You will be missed.
