Victor J. Simas

Simas, Victor, J. Jr., 68, a Warwick firefighter for 34 years before retiring as a Lieutenant died Monday, November 30, 2009 at Kent Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Sharon L. (Traylor) Simas and a son of the late Victor J. and Gladys (Lockwood) Simas.  Victor was a graduate of Roger Williams University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree.  He was the father of Jacklyn M. Ross, John T. Simas and the late Victor J. Simas, III; brother of Carol Boynton, Betty Simas, Joseph Simas and the late Sharon Simas; grandfather of Sgt. Raymond Ross, USMC, Matthew Ross, and Pvt. 1st Class Nathan Ross.

His funeral will be held Friday at 8:30 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rita Church, Oakland Beach Ave. at 9:30.  Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park.  Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 pm.  Please omit flowers.
