Not sure what to say?

My most sincere sympathies to Viet's family. When I read this news recently, I lost my breath. He was truly an original person who always focused on the positive in others. I went to Duke with him and remember how he used to run across the quad to say hello and compliment something about everyone he encountered. He ALWAYS gave friends the most genuine hugs and had more energy than anyone. What a terrible loss. He will be remembered forever.

I was so sad to learn of Viet's death. I was one of the Duke University Union's staff advisors when Viet was the Broadway at Duke chair, and Viet was always a breath of fresh air. He so clearly loved life, he loved his friends, and nothing ever really seemed to stress him out or get him down. I've worked at Duke for over 17 years, and Viet is one of the students that always springs to mind whenever I think back about the students that positively impacted others and really made a difference...

My little Angel,
We miss you
We know you are in a place of delight
maybe far from our world but so closed to us i know you are living there and feel us poor living people here.

Merry Christmas
My special thoughts to your family

To Viet's family and friends:

I knew Viet at Duke. He was one of my most favorite people. So truly original and unabashedly himself! I graduated in 2001 and we had fallen out of touch, but I always adored him. Just yesterday I was talking about him with three other Duke friends (we knew him from the Duke University Union). We were all saying how we'd love to reconnect with him, and I just found out today of his passing. I am absolutely floored and I am crying as I write this...

Nga,
My heart goes out to you and your family in your loss. I think of you often and cherish our friendship @ Lineberger when I was there, God Bless and keep you.

Dear co chu Kim,

This is Huyen, Erik's friend. We visited you many years ago in Chapel Hill. I can still now picture that little brilliant boy that Viet was. I also remembered how much you both adored him and how proud you were of him. I am now living in Brisbane, Australia and I have a son of my own (2yo). The news of Viet's sudden passing shocked me to the chord. I sincerely send my deepest symphathy to you. I hope I may have a chance to see you again whether it be in NC or...

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve. Viet will be missed greatly.
