Vilma G. Templeton
Vilma Glenn Templeton, 78, of Woodbridge passed away Sunday, July 22, 2007, at her residence.
Vilma graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor's degree in education. She was a librarian for over 40 years, most recently at Gar-Field High School. She retired from Prince William County schools.
After retiring, she volunteered at the library at H.H. Poole Middle School. Vilma was the daughter of the late Pherabe and Raleigh Bland. She also was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Alcorn.
She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Norman and her husband, Dale, of Stafford County, and Linda Templeton Haymes and her husband, Paul, of Smithfield; her two brothers, McRay Bland and his wife, Hazel, of Greenville, N.C., and McDonald Bland and his wife, Vivian, of Richmond; her brother-in-law, Lee Alcorn of Greenville, N.C.; her four grandchildren, Diana Epple and her husband, Garry, and Audrey Mueller and her husband, Michael, all of Stafford, and Sarah Haymes and Karen Haymes, both of Smithfield; and her great-granddaughter, Madilyn Epple of Stafford.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel.
A graveside service will be held Friday, July 27, at 11 a.m. in Stafford Memorial Park, with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Widewater Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, 749 Widewater Road, Stafford, Va. 22554.
