Not sure what to say?

Vince changed my life. I began my sophomore year at Middlebury in September, 1975 feeling a bit lost. I'd tried majoring in biology, the study of life, but found the department in those days far too indoor-focused and devoted to the study of the dead to satisfy my hunger for life and the living. I switched my major to English and found a similar problem---too many dead poets for my taste, and too much chain-smoking in class by the professor and students, giving me a sense that if I kept up in...

Dr. Malmstrom was instrumental in my pursuing a 50+ year career in GIS technology! Vince introduced me to the use of computers while I was an undergraduate student at Middlebury College. He was working on an on-line course on geographic concepts and needed a student to use the course and provide feedback. He then mentored me on how to program and use a variety of tools available on the Dartmouth timeshare computer. Thanks Vince for everything you taught me!

Vincent Malmstrom was one of my favorite professors when I was a student at Dartmouth College. To this day, I still talk about his genius insights and awe inspiring discoveries with my wife and friends .and I graduated in 1987. He was so ahead of his time, and so many socio/geopolitical events he predicted in the classroom in the mid 1980s are coming true today. I might not have agreed with him on everything, but I remain awed by his genius.

A belated note of gratitude for all that Vince (AKA Dr. Malmstrom) taught me. Geography has been my passion since the freshman seminar he taught in fall 1980 on Meso-American geography. Then I went on the Mexico stretch with him in the winter of 19 83, staying on to do field research in southern Mexico among the Mixtec, Zoque and Popoluca. He was a very important influence in my future career.

I am sorry for Vincent. He was my grandfathers cousin. He and Rut come to sweden in summertime for many years. Condolences to his daughters.

interesting that Malmstrom places Mayan Izapa by January 1 winter solstice mid-tolkin in 1359bc just two years before the 1357bc match of he 364-day with 273-day. (270 years AFTER Babylon as 270 years of Babylon).

Dr. Vincent Malmstrom was a GREAT MANa scientist who should have been on TV and in major news media for his discovery that the ancient Izapa Mexico Temple Center, the birthplace of the Maya Calendar, is at 14.8 degrees north Latitude where the zenith sun passages on August 13 & April 30 measure the sacred Maya 260-day Calendar. Dr. Michael Coe said Dr. Malmstroms discovery of this calendars birthplace at Izapa is the most important discovery of Mesoamerican Antiquities Research! Thank you Dr....
