Not sure what to say?

Dear Ester and Family, I had the great pleasure to know Vinnie and work with him in City government beginning in the late 1980s. He was smart, principled and taught me much. Please accept my condolences at this difficult time. He was a terrific guy! Chris Collins

With sincere sympathy. Vita ODonovan

I am so sorry to hear of Vinny´s passing. This year he and Ester were coming to Cooperstown to visit the Glimmerglass Opera Festival. This year we were going to ride the carousel at the Farmers Museum and once again share a meal at the Otesaga. I was going to visit them in Staten Island. I was looking forward to seeing him and the couple that they were again. The upstate home they loved had been my grandparents´ farm. Vinny answered my letter requesting a tour with an invitation to visit....

I am devastated to learn of Vinny's passing. I met Vinny as a young tenant organizer and somehow he had the patience and kindness to teach me and others so much about policy advocacy, from how to access City Hall to when and how to collaborate with others. My deepest condolences to Ester, Peter and Joe, who he loved so deeply. The world has lost an exceptional soul.

Dear Ester and your sons, I am so very sad to hear of Vinny´s passing. He has been a long time valued friend(I still remember his Afro!). There are so many wonderful things about Vinny. I particularly loved his enthusiasm for the things he loved. His home up state, his passion for politics,Ester and his sons as examples. Our walks, our talks, snow shoeing. So many treasured memories. Vinny I will really miss you... but also grateful to have you(and Ester)as my friend for all these...

We all grew up in New Brighton, S.I. & my Signoriello & Kiernan family knew Vince. They were proud of Vincent as they were involved in many of the same issues keeping Staten Island safe. The Obituary was written beautifully and it included so much of who Vince was about. The Montalbano family will miss Vince as he was an example to follow. Sincerely, The New Brighton Families, Tommy & Cheryl, Toni & Al, Faye & Tom, Rosemarie & Ed, all The Signoriello families

I don't know if I can find the right words to describe how much you meant to my family and I, "Uncle" Vinny. I am heartbroken to know you are no longer a call away. From those early days on the hot steps of City Hall with your seer-sucker suits and Panama hat, to our last dinner just a few short weeks ago, you have been a friend and confidant for nearly 25 years. I am going to miss spending time with you and Ester, talking politics and just learning from you, both personally and...

Vin was a MFHS '67 classmate and good friend since then. He was a leader at school and subsequently when we got together. He found great joy getting together and singing at reunions with his former bandmates in the Vectors and with other classmates that played back in the day. Always, a kind and considerate man who will be sorely missed. Vir Fidelis. Biz Lancaster, OH MFHS '67
