Vincent "Vinny" J Napolitan, 88, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2018 at Mercy Hospital with his loving family by his side. Vincent was a lifelong resident of West Springfield, MA. Vincent was born to the late Antonio and Teresina Napolitano. He leaves his loving wife Catherine (Basilone) Napolitan of 67 years, three sons Thomas, John and Robert all of West Springfield and two daughters Shirley Smith of Agawam, Ma and Kathy Flowers and her husband Jim (Mr. Fix) of West Springfield. He leaves five grandchildren Shannon and Katie Flowers, Shawn and Joseph Berry and Jennifer Berry Cauley, three great grandchildren Dylan Berry and Aidan and Caitlin Cauley. He was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.  He served in the Army during the Korean War.  He received an honorable discharge after serving for 15 months and also earned a certificate for infantry repair. Vincent graduated from Springfield Trade School, while in Trade School he received Awards in Football, Baseball and Basketball.  He was retired from Rexnord after a lifetime of service.  Vinny was a huge sports fan, he was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. He loved holidays with his family and especially loved his desserts. In his later years he enjoyed his coffee and donut at the Big Y in West Springfield, the staff enjoyed his daily visit. He will be missed by many family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's association.  Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, in West Springfield, on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at 11:00 am.  The Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Vincent. A man I know since my childhood, a neighbor, a good father and husband. He used to take us to WSHS football games on Saturdays. God bless the family.
