Not sure what to say?

We want to express our sympathy for the passing of Vincent. Our children had him as a teacher at Hadley and our son Joe raked leaves for you when you lived in the house near GBW. He was a special Ed student and you were very kind to him. Our prayers are sent to you and your family. Rich & Nancy Kirkwood and family

I am so, so sorry to hear this news. My deepest sympathies to you, Derek and Donna. Vince was a wonderful legislator and role model to the many students he taught, as well as to legislative staff, fellow lobbyists and other legislators. We wouldn't be in the mess we're in as a state if we had more Vince Persico's in Springfield.

Derek, as you may recall, I lost my dad at 67 to pancreatic cancer. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. It is so Unbelievably hard to

I had Mr. Persico in his first year at Main Street School. I believe me, Tommy Condon, Steve Cowherd, Matt Bartlett, and more were giving him a run for his money that year! As we boys were informed by Vince that we were all going to get N's in the area of Self-Control because of our poor behavior in the classroom, we knew that our parents were not going to by sympathetic to our cause. So we made a deal with Mr. Persico--and challenged him to a basketball game. The losers would get N's while...

Both my kids were fortunate to have you as their Social Studies teacher at Hadley Jr. HS - you made learning not only fun but you inspired them - to the point that my son actually followed in your foot steps and has been teaching Social Studies at a Jr HS for the past 12 years and loving it. Thank you for all you did - you made a difference - you made this world a better place.

Mr. P! I always remember him as a great teacher. How very many kids' lives he must have influenced. I'm sorry for your loss

My heartfelt sympathy to Donna and her family. We will miss seeing Mr. Persico at our bank. May you find solace in knowing that you are in my thoughts and prayers Donna.

my heart will never forget how Mr. Persico sang to me back in my 80's history class as I would waltz in, putting a smile on my face, changing the tone for the day! You will be forever missed Mr. P, keep on singing, Michelle Hartline-Myers.

Mr Persico was a creative and inspirational teacher. I will never forget the time we had to make up our own countries along with anthems. Our lyrics were to the music of Freeze Frame. These are the school memories that will always be cherished. Thank you.
