Not sure what to say?

09/30/2024 Not a day goes by that I think of my mentor & friend Dr. Zamoyta from St. John´s University in NY. When life throws challenges, I think, what would Dr. Zamoyta do? And the solution(s) pop up almost immediately. Even when I relocated to the west coast, we kept in touch. When visiting back home, I´d drop by the University to visit him & some other professors. Invariably I´d stay awhile. I truly miss him. Because of him, was successful in my medical career & currently in retirement....

09/30/2023 Not a day goes by when I think of my professor, mentor & a friend, Dr. Zamoyta at St. John´s University. I´m not a Catholic but he taught me the wisdom of Christianity, the brotherhood of souls, and dedication of education and humanity. To this day I can still recite the University´s motto,"Educatio Christiana Anime Perfecto", which is in front of St. Augustine Hall(library). He asked the class but no one knew except me. I did well in the Theology courses only through his...

08/08/2022 Barely a day passes that I often think of Dr.Zamoyta. He was a great Theological professor who had after class tutorials. Not being a Catholic, he often tutored me. When I moved onto graduate school, we kept in touch. I really miss you sir & my prayers are with the Zamoyta family. Allen Nakagawa, St. John´s University, Class of 1973

A brilliant professor who taught the true teachings of Catholicism. One of the best professors at St. John's University.

I am writing to express my hearfelt sympathies and prayers for the soul of Dr. Vincent Zamoyta, my Professor of Theology at St. John's University, Queens, New York in Theology 45, Marriage & the Family, Spring 1974. I recall that he was a staunch supporter of the encyclical Humanae Vitae, and a Christian psychology of the human soul and the spirituality of love, as opposed to the materialism of modern psychology. At a time when authentic Catholic education had been diminished by liberal...

Hello to the Zamoyta family, fellow professors, classmates,
I have decided to keep his online obituary and guestbook permanently online by a forever donation to Legacy.com.
DrZamoyta was one of my favorite professors, and enjoyed after class discussions with him. He was a great person and should be remembered in perpetuity.

7/06/2012 Much to my surprise, I discovered that my favorite Theology professor from StJohn's passed away. We'd discuss theology, philosophy and the principles of religious freedom in his office after classes. He also tutored me on a variety of subjects. He was a mentor, tutor and most importantly, a friend. I'll miss him.

My name is Anthony Fasano. While a Christian Brother, I had the good fortune to live in community wth Dr. Zamoyta. He had a lively sense of humor, but it was never sharp or hurtful. Stan showed genuine regard and consideration to his confreres. He taught energetic high school classes, and studied hard. To me, he was an inspiration to follow Christ more completely. I consider myself blessed to have witnessed his devotion and scholarship.
