Not sure what to say?

Ms. Shipp-Tolliver-El was my kindergarten teacher at Del Rio Elementary School in 1988/1989. She also taught my three younger siblings. I have thought about her many times throughout the years, because so much of what she taught us, to this day I remember. She commanded her classroom in a way that got wiggly little 5 years to sit and focus long enough to absorb information like little sponges. She helped establish our foundation for learning and good behavior. I am forever grateful for the...

I did not know Mrs. Tolliver was gone. She was my first grade and sixth grade teacher. It was fortunate for me. She was a no nonsense teacher and a lot of fun at the same time. You were my hero. Rest in peace.

Mrs. Tolliver was one of the most influencial people in my life. Had I not had her to guide me with her kindness, love and nurturing, my life could have taken another path. I loved her with all my heart and will never forget her. She was the best. God's speed and love Ms. Tolliver, I will never forget you. RIP. Much Aloha, your biggest fan Christina A Wheeler.

I will always remember Mrs. Tolliver as she was the best teacher I ever had. Thank you for being a good teacher and your devotion. With fondest memories.

I send condolences from the Wayne Family and the City of Refuge Family. I am thankful that three of our young members along with our Pastor were able to spend some time with Mrs. Shipp-Tolliver and her family before she went on home to glory. Blessings for the family.

I was fortunate to be a student of Mrs. Tolliver at Libby Elementary School. She left a lasting impression on me. I will forever be grateful to have been touched by such a kind person and devoted teacher. Rest in Peace. My condolences to your family.

Mrs. Tolliver was an amazing teacher. We will always remember the gifts she brought to Libby Elementary School in Oceanside, particularly the awareness and contributions of Black Americans to our country. "Give me your tired your poor"...I still recall her teaching us that song!

Sincerely,
The Basco Family of Oceanside, CA
