Violet Lesniak, 93, passed away on Monday April 13, 2020 at JFK hospital in Edison.
Born in Pennsylvania to the late Andrew & Amelia Grzendzinski Nevolis, Violet resided in Scotch Plains for 59 years, where she and her late husband Joseph raised their two children. For the past two years, Violet has been a resident of the Atria Assisted Living in Cranford.
A communicant of St. Bartholomew's Church, Violet enjoyed spending her free time crafting, baking, reading and taking trips to Atlantic City. Violet is remembered by family and friends as a sweet, kindhearted person.
Predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Joseph, she is survived by her son Kenneth and wife Sharon, and daughter Kathleen DiRico and husband Salvatore. She is also survived by her two grandchildren whom she adored, Dr. Christopher Lesniak and wife Carla, and Michelle Lesniak.
Funeral services are being held privately by Rossi Funeral Home, and Violet will be laid to rest at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Violet’s name may be made to Haven Hospice, 65 James Street, Edison, NJ 08818. https://www.jfkmc.org/jfk-foundation
