Violet O. Mavis, 98, a lifetime resident of Crystal Lake, passed away March 9, 2017. She was born in Crystal Lake on July 10, 1918 to Charles and Emilia (nee Johnson) Nelson.
Violet married Harold A. Mavis on September 21, 1940 in Crystal Lake. They were married almost 48 years before his passing in 1988.
She loved and trusted her Lord, Jesus Christ, and is celebrating today in His presence.
Violet was a loving sister to Almeda Schulz and beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; siblings, Walter Nelson, Vera Nelson, Carl Nelson, and Agda Maaske.
A memorial service will be Monday, March 20, at 11 AM at the Evangelical Free Church of Crystal Lake, 575 E. Crystal Lake Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Violet’s name to the church, see address above.

Violet attended The Salvation Army Church and that is where I met her. She was a very beautiful lady, kind and full of Gods Grace. She will be missed but always thought of....a woman who always showed her inner beauty and light to all who knew her.
