Violet Mitchell Stapleton Violet Mitchell Stapleton, 88, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jon Stapleton. The graveside service was held Saturday at Roselawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308 or to a favorite charity. Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel (877-8191) handled arrangements. Mrs. Stapleton was a native of Graceville until she moved to Tallahassee in 1962. She was a graduate of Florida State College for Women and the University of Florida. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Other survivors include two daughters, Sarah Meyer Stokes and Mary Carroll (and husband Rick), both of Tallahassee; six grandchildren, John Meyer, Andrew Meyer (and wife Kay), Dana Stokes, Carlton Carroll, Mitchell Carroll and Darden Carroll, all of Tallahassee; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Meyer and Lawson Meyer, both of Tallahassee; and a sister, Wilkie Bowen of Bonifay.
