It’s now been 4 weeks since Virg passed and there has been much to absorb. I know there will continue to be much to absorb, but I wanted to share this with you. Everyone who shared at his Celebration shared from the perspective of their experiences with Virg. And we – his wife and children – learned so much more about him than we had known before. I know everyone understands that oh so human impulse to have ‘wished’ I could have shared all those ‘glory days’ with him. But I wasn’t there for...

We have wonderful memories of Virgil. His spirit is sweet, comforting, and loving.
Bob is going to miss Master Minding with Virgil; memories of his support and believing all things are possible will always stay intact.
Praying for peace and strength for you Gayle.

I will love and miss you and cherish all the wonderful memories. You were my special friend and now a special guardian angel to watch over me.
My favorite memories are the trips down Lake Austin. We would sing our hearts out. We called ourselves the "Austin Tabernacle Choir". One of many songs that comes to mind is "Everybody needs someone to lean on"...You and Gleva were that someone for me as you were for so many. You and Gleva gave so many of us the strength to carry on.

"Our Beloved Virgil
who we now remember
has entered into the peace
of life eternal.
Virgil still lives on
in the acts of goodness he performed
and in the hearts of those
who cherish his memory."

Virgil was an easy to meet man with engaging personality. He happened to be born on a record cold day and he good-humordley won many a bet with unsuspecting new acquaintances on what the record low temperature was (-22 degrees, I believe it was - yes, he got me, too!). Virgil was highly intelligent and devoted much of his professional life at Texas Instruments in various challenging assignments.
He led the development of the world's first nomenclatured synthetic array radar - the...
