Dear Virgil, I am another of your camp products. If you remember the only black boy in 1968, you will remember me. That camp, and the 70' camp, enabled me to take enough courage to chance a try at MVNC. I am an ordained Nazarene elder and have served as youth pastor at the Los Angeles Grace Naz church and teach 5th grade at its day school. Under your ministy, and camp director Baker, I confirmed my life commitment as a Christian.

I grive with you in your loss...

To the Applegate and Stears Families, our deepest sympathy for your loss. We hope that your dearest memories of Virginia will heal your hearts.
Sincerely,
Mary Stears and Family (my late husband, John, was Virginia's cousin)

Virgil, you have my sympathy and prayers. I remember you from my childhood on the Northwest Ohio Camp grounds when you played basketball with us kids. I am pastoring in Hemet, California and though it has been years since I've seen you I remember you fondly and am touched by your loss.
Mike Hull, Senior Pastor Hemet, California (My dad was Bill Hull who pastored with you on the Northwest Ohio District)

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome...

Virgil, Ron, Paula, and family,
"Just think of stepping on shore and finding it heaven. Of touching a hand, and finding it God's; of breathing the air, and finding it celetial; of waking up in glory, and finding it home." Oh, what a homecoming she's having!
With our heartfelt sympathies,
