Mrs. Virginia Emmaline (Dowdy) Crenshaw: Jenny, age 91 of Hidden Bluff Ct, Prosper, Texas, formerly of Young Harris, Georgia passed away peacefully with her daughter at her side in the CARAID at Northbrook, McKinney, Texas on October 1, 2021.
Jenny was born on November 15, 1929 in Winter Garden, Florida the daughter of the late Walter M. Dowdy and Annie Lee Dowdy.
Jenny was a faithful Christian, enjoying the services and Christian fellowship with family and friends over the years at Prestonwood Baptist Church, Prosper Texas, Ivy Log Baptist Church, Blairsville Georgia and Orlando Baptist Church, Orlando Florida. She leaves behind many friends from her attendance at all of these churches.
Jenny worked at various jobs over the years but was primarily a homemaker, raising five sons and one daughter. She loved to cook and sew and was affectionately known by a nick name, Jenny Go Go. She was always ready to go shopping and she and her husband loved to camp and travel. Camping in the mountains in the early eighty’s led them to retire in the mountains of North Georgia. They were always ready to tell you stories of their many camping trips and travel adventures, having traveled to all 50 States and some foreign countries. After the passing of her husband in 2018 and due to failing health, she moved to Prosper, Texas in October of 2020 to be with her Daughter Peggy.
Jenny enjoyed reading and working puzzles and truly loved all of her family, especially all the grandkids and great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Annie Lee Dowdy, her loving Husband of over 70 years, William M. (Bill) Crenshaw, and her brother, Gene Dowdy.
She leaves behind her sister, Mary Jo Hasbrouck of Florida and six of her adult children, Son, Ed Crenshaw and wife Pauline of Young Harris, Georgia, Son, Jim Crenshaw and wife Sharon of Toccoa, Georgia, Son, Chuck Crenshaw and wife Helga of Arabi, Georgia, Son, Mike Crenshaw Sr. of Young Harris, Georgia, Son Keith Crenshaw and wife Cassie of Orlando, Florida and Daughter, Peggy Waddell and Husband Mike of Prosper, Texas. She leaves 12 Grandchildren, 25 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great- Great-Grandchild, along with many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Jenny will truly be missed by all who knew her but her faith and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ and words from 2 Corinthians 5:8 that says, “We are confident I say, and willing to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord”. She knew for sure where she was going and was confident that she would see all her friends and family again that believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday October 8, 2021 at 2 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Reverend Jerry Karnes officiating and Special Music provided by Elaine Young and Biz Roesch. The Following will serve as pallbearers , Buddy Crenshaw, Michael Crenshaw, Jesse Crenshaw, Peyton Fleming, Ethan Fleming, Mick Driggers. Interment will follow at Ivy Log Baptist Cemetery, Blairsville GA. The family will meet with friends and relatives at the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday October 7, 2021 from 6 t0 8 pm .
