Not sure what to say?

I first met "Miss Ginny" when I was a camper at Namanu. Our friendship continued...CFG member, Namanu counselor, CFG office worker, and Tajar and Skyla sitter. I thank her for her faith in people and her insight into the great things one could accomplish when given the opportunity and support. I thank her for the legacy she leaves behind and for the friendship she had with my mom, Gwen.
WoHeLo,
Thumper

My mother and Ginny worked together at Namanu in the 1950s. Ginny and Mom introduced my sister and me to Namanu magic long before we knew what it meant. By the time we were campers, we had already been to Namanu countless times, knew the lore and could sing all the songs. Thank you, Ginny, for providing so many with unforgettable childhood memories, for encouraging me to spend one precious summer on staff at Namanu and for years of friendship and gentle guideance. You will be missed.

I was hired by Ginny as the Camp Fire office "girl friday", in the early 70's. I was just out of business school, newly married and the luckiest person to join that big family. Ginny was at the helm, Mary Lou the camp director and a great staff. Ginny's contagious laugh was a daily happening, it made for a great work environment. She made me feel my day at the office was a good thing, always positive. I visited Ginny over the Christmas holiday and I will never forget her words, "the...

WoHeLo Ginny,

Over the years since I left Portland Camp Fire, I have often thought of you and all the special people that were part of my life then. You always bring a smile to my face. Thanks for sharing Camp Fire and Camp Namanu with me.

As a part of my life for 51 years, Miss Ginny left an indelible impression upon my soul. She was and always will be Namanu personified. It was an honor and a privilege to know her.... God Bless you, Ginny "This is good night and not good-bye"

Miss Jackie

I remember the entire poem spoken by Miss Ginny at Council Fires at Camp Namanu. This line seems just right for now:
And Heaven can only be Heaven
With a camp in which to play."

I wish you well in your newest Camp & know you'll be missed, but our memories live on.

WoHeLo,
Miss Josey

Ginny was one of our Mother's favorite neighbors -- always cheerful and full of life. Compassionate and a woman who lived by her own rules. It's fair to say that we didn't know her as well as many of the people who have left entries here, but we remember her fondly nonetheless.

"when we grow too old to dream..." thankfully, ginny never grew too old to dream.

we spent so many hours on the phone regardless of where I was living or traveling.

our politics aligned, we shared a love of animals, especially dogs, and despised hot weather. she was one of the few people I could call and complain to about hot weather!

when we weren't burning up the phone lines she was often in my thoughts and always in my prayers.

ginny, this is goodnight but...

We love Aunt Ginny so very much. Our daughter, Noelle, has special memories of going to visit her---Ginny had such a way with children! Jelly-beans, puppy-dogs, and spirited conversation! Love and fond memories, Tim, Sarah, Noelle, and Lyal Viers
