Dear Miss Olivia and Family,
I returned home from a trip to hear of the passing of your mother. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I remember your mother fondly. She was a very gentle and gracious woman. I always respected her for her bravery at leaving her home to come to a new country to be closer to her children and grandchildren. I also remember the beautiful sewing she was known for.
