Virginia was born February 9, 1922, in Strawberry Hill, Kansas City, KS, and was a lifelong area resident of Kansas before moving to Florida six years ago. She worked as the first female Auditor for the Federal Reserve Bank for 34 years, before she retired in 1978. Prior to that, she spent some time working in the Fairfax Bomber Plant, during WWII as a riveter on the B-25 Mitchell. In her day she loved square- dancing, crossword puzzles and card games of any kind. Virginia was 88 when she passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011, at her home in Navarre, FL. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ray Sutton, her only daughter, Pauline Ann Kostelac and her brother Joseph Julius Stimac. Virginia, you were not only a friend but also a mother to all of us who were privileged to work with you in the Audit Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. I will never forget you and all of the generosity that you shared with me during and beyond those years.

With much love always,

Gina, you were more like a sister to me than a first cousin. When we were growing up on Strawberry Hill, our families used to live together and we were the very best of friends. We used to do everything together and I have many fond memories of us throughout the years. We'd go to the movies, historical places, swimming, picnics with friends and we'd even take the streetcar way over to the Kansas City Zoo (on the Missouri side)! Our Friday night "get togethers" would take us to the dances at the 5th Street Hall where your dance card was always full and we made sure to stay in touch throughout the years.

When you moved down to Florida I missed you so much, but was glad for the times that we could spend with each other on the phone. I am sorry that I didn't get to talk with you one last time, but if you're reading this now, you will know how much Mark, Jane and all the kids will miss you. I was proud to have you as my very best friend, I loved you so much and now I'm all alone. When next we meet, it will be with the greatest of heartfelt joy in our reunion.

Your loving friend and cousin,
Helen M. Ferbezar

Dear Virginia, Dear Granny. My visits to Navarre will be forever changed. Although the time we spent together can be counted in hours, those times were precious. I will miss your little stories of the old days, and your smiling face and happy spirit even when the fragilities of life were testing you. I will always remember the nightly get-togethers around my Mom and Dads house each evening as the whole family tested their skills in "Jeopary" and "Wheel of Fortune". I remember the ocassional walks home across the road with your little arm in mine, sharing thoughts and joking along the way.

The laughs, the smiles, and your calm presence. It is difficult to see you have left us. I know God now has you safe and secure. I pray for the rest of us, us in Navarre, and all your family, friends, and loved ones far and wide, that God provides the comfort and wisdom to ease our sorrow in your departure.

What a lovely "lady", always so chipper and ready for a good time and her laughter was a joy, to hear. She will certainly be bringing her joy and happy heart to Heaven! So Generous to her family and willing to help where ever she was needed. She let us call her Slim and Mom, treating our whole family with the same love she gave to her own daughter Polly and sons John and Delvin.
Such a blessed legacy to pass on to her grand children. Forever a precious little grandma, now home safely with her Lord.
We love you dearly Slim and miss you even now. Joseph, Juliette, Ed, Colleen, Nick and Neil

I worked with Virginia in the Audit Department of the Federal Reserve Bank. Hearing her name sure brings back some wonderful memories of her and the fact that she was the first women to join the audit travel team. She was always professional in what she did and a joy to be around. Her family will be in my prayers. Bob Frohoff

Grandma you will always be with me, not just in my heart, but through all the lessons you tought me. Those lessons have helped me become the person I am today. I was so blessed to have you in my life and be able to spend the last six years with you. I will miss seeing every day but find comfort knowing you are still with me. Thinking of you, Your Grandson Greg
