Not sure what to say?

I´m writing so many years after the passing of Mrs.Torelli because I spoke her name today and decided to google her name. I am saddened to hear of her passing. I attended Syracuse from 1970-74 and worked as a student job at the International student center. I always remembered how king she was and my exposure to International students. When I graduated she made me an amazing vest which I have kept for over 50 years. That is how much of an impression she made on me. So today i met 2 Chinese...

Mrs. Torelli and her competent team with Dr. Pat Burak and Dr. Michael Smithee were the first SU representatives whom I had the privilege of meeting on August 29, 1979, within an hour landing at Syracuse for the first time. Mrs. Torelli and her team exuded empathy. The work culture at the International Students Office demonstrated the best of professionalism and efficiency. Mrs. Torelli’s advice during my six years as a graduate student had enormous impact on the development of my ensuring...

I was fortunate to have known "Gigi" Torelli when she was the Director of the International Student Office at Syracuse University and as a member of the International Center of Syracuse. She was an outstanding member of the ICS and we are very proud to know that she won the Goodwill Ambassador award given by the ICS in 1987. I am very sorry to hear of her death and wish to convey my sympathy to her family.

Sincerely,

Lucille Browning

We were very saddened to hear about Mrs Torelli's passing away. We have so many memories of her since 1982. When we arrived at OIS which was at Euclid Ave then, it started raining as we were leaving her office on our first day in Syracuse. She ran downstairs and returned with an umbrella for our use, which was very thoughtful of her. She invited us to her house in Manlius atleast twice, and on one occasion since we did not have a car, she and her husband "Sandy" picked us up and also dropped...

My most sincere condolences to Mrs. Torelli's family. I will always keep a special and fond memory of her as a very caring, sensitive, warm hearted and highly spirited person, with a good sense of humor. I am also forever thankful that she allowed me to join the staff of the OIS (as it was then called!). Mrs. T. made this a real "Home away from Home", not only for all the internatonal students but for all of us as well.
She touched the lives of many in a very positive way and will not be...

Dear Family,
Gigi and I were in Coterie together, and we became friends. I was so glad to know her. She always had such an optomistic outlook on life. I loved going to her home; she took great pride in the warm and welcoming atmosphere she offered everyone. We used to enjoy chatting about William Smith College where I graduated, and I understand her daughter did too.
My deepest sympathy to her loved ones.

My deepest sympathies and prayers to all of Mrs. Torelli's family members. I was sad to hear the news of her passing away. Mrs. Torelli has always been in my thoughts and prayers even though I worked for her for short time before she retired. She really succeeded in making the OIS a home away from home for all international students who came to Syracuse University. Hope her intercessions in heaven will help towards a peaceful understanding of all cultures here on earth.

I am saddened to hear of Mrs. Torelli's passing. She was a wonderful person and great mentor.

Mrs. Torelli will always live in my heart and soul as a mentor, friend, inspiration and role-model. She built the "ISO" and trained us to follow in her footsteps so that each and every student could have the best possible experience at Syracuse University or SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. She cared for her employees like family - making us sweaters, purses, helping me to wallpaper my house, and sharing holiday dinners with us at her house. I'll never forget singing...
