I knew Ginny Upton when she was a lab technician and then a graduate student at Yale. She was a truly remarkable woman who knew how to "think out of the box" and make worthwhile, meaningful things happen. Everyone at Yale who knew her, loved her. I have a 1971 book at home (Principles of Competitive Binding Assays) which has an unposed photo of Ginny at a workshop; in the photo she is doing an experiment and using a pipette.
