I did not know Vivian, but I know her son Jerome and he is a very nice man, which must reflect the type of person his mother Vivian was.

To Jerome and Family,
When I was a "baby Christian" I used to wonder what our purpose in life really was. Later in my Christian growth, I clearly understood the purpose when I heard a Eulogy that addressed "the dash" in a person's life, e.g., that span of time between entrance and departure.

To the Bettis family, please find solance in the fact that Mrs. Bettis is in a better place today. I understand the hurt and sadness that you must feel. The loss of a Mother leaves a void in our earthly family. However, it gives us all inspiration to meet up with them one day in heaven. God bless the Bettis family.

From our very first meeting she displayed those qualities and the ever present maternal ablility to handle her children (Jerome) as necessary, saying "I'll still take him across my knee". Smile! ...and I believe...

My sincere condolences to the entire Bettis' family on their loss of Jerome's mother. I didn't know her, but have known Jerome for 10 yrs. plus. I know that his mother was in her mid-40's when the 1964 Civil Rights Act was passed and having lived through the times of the Montgomery Bus Boycott and later, the September 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham --- she had undoubtedly, seen and done a lot. I would remind all her family of 2 Corinthians 4 vs. 16: Therefore...
