Queen of Heaven Cemetery and Mortuary - Rowland Heights Obituary

Vivian Carillo, 88, of Peoria, AZ, joined our Lord on October 31, 2022. She passed peacefully to Frank Sinatra’s My Way surrounded by much of her family.

Vivian was born in New York, New York to Armand and Lillian (Carrier) Jollette on June 22, 1934. She moved to California in 1955 where she met and married Ed Carillo in 1957, who precedes her in death. Vivian moved to Peoria, AZ in September, 2020.

Vivian is survived by her daughter Nancy Carillo, son John (Susie) Carillo and daughter-in-law Maria (Tony) Carillo. Vivian was a very proud grandmother of Anthony (Joanna) Carillo, Heather (Gabriel) Melchor, Alyssa Carillo, Matthew Carillo, Johnny (Sydney) Carillo, and Erika (Daniel) Ebert. She was blessed to love 4 great grandchildren, Collette, Christian, Ryan, and Miles.

Vivian loved her family and friends deeply and she loved to talk baseball, Disney, travel, and enjoy a beer or two. Her deep faith stayed with her until her passing. She left an impression on so many people across the globe. Vivian will be greatly missed on this earth, but will be with her Husband Ed, son Tony, and all family members who preceded her in death.

There will be a visitation from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Queen of Heaven Cemetery with the Rosary at 6:30. The Funeral mass and graveside service also will be held at Queen of Heaven at 11:00 am on Friday, December 2, 2022.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Ronald McDonald House, an organization Vivian greatly admired for their work in helping families with sick or injured children. The family extends its deepest thanks to everyone who contributed to Vivian’s long and blessed life.

Not sure what to say?

My memories of Viv and the times we spent together are many and will always be with me. Whenever I am at “ The Park”, she’ll be right there with me. People-watching, enjoying an ice cream bar and riding Small World. I am both privileged and blessed she chose me as a friend. I will miss her so dearly.

Rest In peace, Mrs. Carillo! You will be so missed! Your strength and devotion to family were truly amazing! Loved your sense of humor! You were so similar to my mother-probably the NY connection!

Viv was such an amazing woman! I met Viv while in college with Nancy and she always was loving towards me and welcomed me into her home. The last time I saw her was in Arizona and although it had been years since I've seen her it was like yesterday. She was a one of a kind woman and her relationship with her children, particularly Nancy, was extremely special. Go in peace Viv, you will always hold a memory in our hearts.

I am so heartbroken for you Nancy. We enjoyed watching you and your WeeMum live life to the fullest. May God wrap His loving arms around you and your family.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
