Not sure what to say?

One of the cheerful and friendly faces I remember from my nursing school days was Vivian's. She was a good teacher as well. We recently were reacquainted at the Wellness Center of OHSU where we both participated in the Ai Chi class in the warm water therapy pool. I will miss chatting with her there. She was lovely and gracious to the end. My condolences to her family.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

To My Brother Bob, You have been on my mind all day. You and Vivan have always been a caring and inspiring couple. My prayers are with you. Love Gloriann

When I first arrived at the University of Pennsylvania, Vivian was there as a Post Doc. She was a kind and considerate person. We shared many lunches and discussions about our shared research passions. I am sadden to hear of her death and want you to know what a wonderful person and professional she was to all whom she met. I was so sadden to hear of Vivian's death. She served as a founding Editorial Board member on the Journal of Pediatric Nursing. Her reviews of manuscripts were insightful, comprehensive and compassionate. I remember so well that she ended her reviews with the statement, "It is an honor to review your work." That statement alone says so very much about the type of caring and professional person Vivian was. She will be missed and it was a gift and honor to have known her. Cecily L. Betz

I am a friend of Alice Walls, Vivians sister, as well as a fellow nurse. This woman was a leader in her field and mentor. I long to hold Alice's hand through this painful time. She is a friend of strong faith and profound love. God and her ever faithful husband, Steve, will be there for her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I'm Ken and Pat Williams' daughter.

Vivian was a friend, colleague and confidente for over 30 years. We played, learned and grieved together over many years. She is forever in my heart. Thank you Vivian for your contributions to child and family nursing and for being the person you were.Shirley May Harmon Hanson
