Vivian “Colleene” Harris, 95, of Justin, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, at her home in Justin, Texas. She was born in Justin, Texas on July 19th, 1930, to the daughter of Marvin Burch and Gladys Christine (Hathorn) Judge.


On April 21, 1948, Vivian married Walter Sims Harris in Justin, Texas. Together they made their home in Justin, where they raised their three children. Vivian became the first female mail carrier in Denton, Texas and worked there for seven years. She also worked for Northwest ISD as a switchboard operator and bus driver.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Sims Harris; her parents, Marvin and Gladys Judge; and her brother, James Marvin Judge.


Cherishing her memory are her two daughters, Candice Rae Harris of Denton and Amy McPerson of Rhome; one son, Michael “Mike” David Harris of Justin; two sisters, Eva Christine Cooper of Rhome and Elaine Brown of Bridgeport; and one brother, Clifford Elton Burk of East Texas.  


Vivian is also survived by ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, with another one on the way. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.


A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
