My Dad, Elder Lewis C. Brand (with Naomi, my Mom) pastored the Winchester, KY, Seventh-day Adventist Church around 1978-'80; Volker and Christa may have been the Brand's favorite parishioners during their nearly 40 years of ministry. They shared a passion for souls, a love of Jesus Christ, and a broad vision of outreach and evangelism. Unfortunately, I fell short of faithfulness back then, but the grace of God now embraces me. So sad to learn of Volker's obituary today. My late husband, Lowell, and I will never forget the times we went to his home and the times he came to visit us. Condolences to his family and his many friends. May our Lord be with all left to mourn his passing.
