So sorry for the loss of your loving husband, brother and uncle. May the God of comfort, comfort your family during this time of grief.

Col Vondell Carter was very instrumental in my transferring from the USAF Reserves, into the 113th TFW, DC Air National Guard, Andrews AFB, Maryland, in 1981. He was always inspirational and would be readily available to provide welcomed guidance to military officers, like myself. He was an outstanding leader, great professional, and served his country and community with distinction. He will be missed, rest in heaven, and God bless the Carter family. (Auburn F. Thanks for being the fine leader and good friend you were. In a time of great stress in the Air Guard; you were the perfect leader doing a perfect job. Your guidance helped develop the finest Maintenance Program in the Air Guard. I was proud to follow you as the 113th Chief of Maintenance.

Col. Vondell Carter was the finest supervisor and mentor I had during 30 years of DC Air Guard Service. He was a man who cared deeply about people and the mission.
I will miss our lunches together, but I'll buy the next time I see you.
