Voris Davis

While thinking about my college friend Voris Davis recently, I proceeded to an internet search to see if I might be able to locate him and catch up a bit. Much to my dismay, I learned about his late 2017 passing.

Voris was a very special person. He was sincere and authentic. I was his dormitory resident advisor during his first one and one-half years of college in Alma, Michigan. Voris was kind, intelligent, sincere, loyal and about the best friend anyone could imagine.

Miss my coach and friend!

I just learned of Voris's passing and I am sadden of learning of his death. I attended Alma College with Voris and we pledged together to Tau Kappa Epsilon in the same pledge class. Voris and I lived in the Teke house during the same time period and shared many laughs and drinks together. May he Rest in Peace.

Voris was a good friend of mine while attending Alma College. We lived across the hall from each other for 1 1/2 years. Voris performed many acts of kindness for me over this period of time. Though we had not seen each other for over 30 years, I will never forget him. My condolences to his wife Mary and the rest of his family.

Dear Family, I am sorry to hear of Voris' passing. We were both in the Grad Program at Auburn National Strength & Research Center under Dr. Mike Stone, at time we would train together. I am happy to hear he's a Christian.

Voris was a good friend and Coach. I really miss him.

Since my own sweet Mother's passing I have come to realize much more clearly that the reality of Heaven is just as much a matter of our basic Christian faith as our belief in the existence of God and Christ.

If we say we believe in Christ, we must believe that what He has told us is true about life after death in Heaven for all true believers.

Mary, I just today heard about Voris. I am so very, very sorry. I haven't seen you in so many years but have such fond memories of our times together. You two are one of my favorite"couple friends" of all times. May God give you the strength to be strong and endure the worst of days and the power of peace to continue all of the coming days. We were so sorry to hear of Voris' passing. I will always remember how hard he worked in his yard, for hours on end. He is endurance amazed me. I pray for peace and comfort for your family.
