Read MoreEric Benson was very special to me - he is responsible for my career in music notation, a path very few follow. The first of my mentors in this field, the training I received from him was the most important and indelible. In recent years I would occasionally call him before giving a music notation lecture, for inspiration. I hope he understood how much I respected him, and how I treasured my years at CIM under his wing.
