W. Roy Duncan, age 76, resident of Kings Mountain NC died December 11, 2007 at Carolina’s Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. He was born in Lake City, TN He was the son of the late Carl and Pearl Weaver Duncan. He was also preceded in death by brother Carl Duncan, Jr. and sister, Cheryl Jones. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Kings Mtn. NC where he was currently serving as usher. He was a lifelong member of the Kiwanis Club of Kings Mtn. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee. He was an accountant for 20 years for Foote Mineral, Kings Mtn. NC and controller at Home Federal Savings and Loan. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a loving Husband, Father, and “Pop Pop”.

SURVIVORS: Wife of 47 years: Vivian Rice Duncan, Kings Mtn. NC Son: Dr. Keith Duncan and wife Cynthia, Ann Arbor, MI Daughter: Laura D. Hill and husband Steve, Bessemer City, NC Grandchildren: Andrew Duncan, Simon Duncan, Kristin Hill, and Steven Hill.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: First Baptist Church, Friday, December 14, 2007 2:00 P.M. Dr. John Sloan, officiating.

VISITATION: Immediately following the service in the Stained Glass Room of First Baptist Church, Kings Mtn. NC

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina

Vivian, we were so sorry to hear of Roy's death. Even though we have not seen either of you in a number of years, we remember you both well and have great admiration and respect for you and Roy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of bereavement and loss. Roy was a good father, husband and Christian. He will be missed by many!

I am so sorry to read about your husband. He must have been a wonderful man because he married a wonderful woman. I will be thinking of you in thought and prayer

Roy's death was a real shock to us and we will surely miss him. The last time we saw Roy was when we met you all for dinner in Pigeon Forge. It was a very enjoyable time and a great memory.
Vivian, we know the loss is heart-breaking for you, your children and grandchildren.. We will keep you in our prayers.
