I had the privilege of knowing Bill for less than a year, but in that time I’ve learned Bill loved Plant Barry, golf, and his family. I hadn’t had the privilege of meeting his grandson, but Bill very often bragged about you. Smith family you have my deepest sympathy and my prayers are with you. God Bless

Bill was always upbeat and would put a smile on your face. He was proud of his "apprentices" at plant Barry. Many will never know how much he really cared for them. He was such a pleasure to be around.

Bill was my friend, co-worker, and fellow harley 'scooter' rider. I'll miss his smile, his 'big word of the day' and his love for having fun with those around him. Bill left too soon and we miss him. God bless you Bill.

I am lost for words to express our loss in our Barry Steam Plant (family) member. My heart hurts for all of us and Bill's family. We all feel the pain within. However, we must remember we will all make the transition to be with Bill and we will see him again. I feel very blessed that our paths crossed during our lifetime journey. Bill enjoyed every day and until his last day. God Bless you my friend! Until Later - Pam Roberts

Everyone at Alabama Power Plant Barry who had the opportunity to work with Bill are saddened and surprised by his sudden passing. How can you say goodbye to someone whose smile and positive outlook brightened so many lives? We will always remember his immense capacity for helping other people. He had a zest for life that was inspiring. He was our co-worker but more importantly he was our friend. He will be missed but not forgotten. My deepest sympathy is extended to the family. I share...

Those we love are always with us.
Their laughter and their wisdom,
their advice and thoughtfulness
are gifts of love that are ours to keep.
We will truly miss Bill.
He will always remain close in my heart.
