Not sure what to say?

My thoughts and prayers go out to Dana, the Birchfield family, Trish Purdy and Bruce Humphrey. Bill was always very proud of his children and grandchildren. Whenever I would mention his children or his grandchildren he would stand up very tall with a big smile across his face. He was a good man, an honest lawyer, and a kind human being.
I have been on opposite sides of Bill on cases and also used him as a mediator. He was always a pleasure to be around. Hopefully, Bill's professional...

For the last ten years, we've had the great good fortune of living next door to Dana and Bill at their Amelia retreat. There was never a weekend that Bill wasn't cooking, and never a weekend that he and Dana weren't sharing their bounty with us, a text or call alerting us that "a little something" had been left on the porch. I've never known anyone who could cook alchemically like Bill Birchfield. We'd open the container, identify the ingredients, and wonder how did he take the familiar and...

It is with great sadness that I learned of Bill's passing. He was the true definition of a gentleman and friend. I had the privilege of relocating my family to Jacksonville in 1985 to participate in the construction of the Dames Point Bridge and knowing Bill for the past 30 years. I am most grateful for the efforts of Bill and a few others that made the bridge a reality. Knowing of Bill's fondness for the Suwannee River will enhance my future kayaking on the river and memories of him. In...

When I interviewed for his secretary job, after he asked all the pertinent questions, I asked him if he yelled and he said, "not at you" so I said, "I'll take the job"....and 38 years later we were still together. That should speak volumes as to what a great guy he was. And while he made some funny faces at me from time to time, he never did yell at me. He always looked out for me and treated me like his daughter. Thanks Mr. B! I love you and miss you,
T.

Dana
Know you are in our thoughts. W.O. Was indeed a blessing to this community.
May the angels guide you home Bill.

I am saddened to learn of the death of your father. He was a good friend of my father, Don Hart, while they were growing up in Mayo, FL and in latter years. He thought so much of Bill, and always spoke so highly of him. I always wanted to get to know him. I extend my sincere condolences to you and your family.

Dana we will all miss Bill. There was not a time that I can remember that seeing him didn't bring a smile to my face. In all the times we were on opposite sides on a matter he was always a professional who conducted himself as a gentleman while still zealously representing his client. There are too few lawyers in our practice today who conduct themselves as Bill did in his practice of law. If Bill told you something you could rest assured it was the truth! Now that his ashes are spread down...

I am so sorry for your loss. Your families are in my thoughts and prayers.
