Waldemar E. "Wally" Goffeney

I was so saddened by the news of Wally’s death. Wally was my next door neighbor for six and a half years. I really enjoyed talking to him over the fence in our backyards. He had such a nice garden. I remember when I first met him was in September and I commented on his garden. He told me, “Don’t plant any tomatoes or zucchini, I have enough for both of us.” And they were so delicious. I will miss his pleasant demeanor, and his sense of humor.

I met Wally because of my friend Nancy. I enjoyed the pleasure of Wally’s company on many occasions. Always with a smile on his face. Always great conversations, whether it was about his garden or cruising down the Mississippi. Did I mention the smiles. When my son was 7, he started calling Wally, Mr Silly Guy, when I asked him why, my son replied because he is always smiling. Now he is reunited with his beloved wife Marylou and siblings. I am sure he is still smiling.

HE WAS LOVED. In life that is everything!
