Wallace L. Chitwood, age 55 of Elwood, died September 11, 2005 at Community Hospital in Anderson after an extended illness. He was born on August 17, 1950 in Somerset, KY. He worked at Speedway Gas Station in Elwood as an attendant. He was a 1968 graduate of McCreary County High School.

Suriviors include: Mother – Ruby O. (Coffee) Chitwood of Pine Knot, KY; 2 Daughters – Jessica and husband Doug Cannon of Upland, and Starla Gray of Marion; Son – Wallace Adam Chitwood of Gas City; Sister – Joan and husband Wayne Marlow of Pine Knot, KY; Brother – Roger and wife Lurie Chitwood of Bowling Green, KY; 4 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father – Jessie F. Chitwood; Brother – Robert E. Chitwood; 2 Sisters: Mildred D. Chitwood, and Patricia Ann Chitwood.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, September 16, 2005 at Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home in Whitley City, KY with Evangelist Dale Rose officiating. Burial will be in Sherd Dobbs Cemetery in McCreary County, KY. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood, and 6 to 9 PM Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home in Whitley City, KY.
