I am sorry to hear of Gene's passing.

While I was in college, I met Gene to discuss a career in insurance. He strongly suggested I not get into the business. Well, I didn't listen to him. I worked for and with Gene for 14+ years at various insurance agencies. After his retirement, I would go to his house to talk and watch sports. We would also go the golf driving range so he could help me with my swing.

Gene was the most avid sports fan I'd ever met. His memory of atheletes...

You will be missed Uncle Gene. I will miss all of the good laughs that I shared with Gene as a kid. He always supported me as I was growing up and loved to sit and chat with me whenever I came to Texas from Hawaii after moving away.

I was very saddened by the news of Gene's passing. I have tried for months to contact him by phone but each time found the number was no longer in service. I kept trying hoping it was a temporary thing. I checked to see if he had a new number but there was no listing. I contacted some of his many friends to see if they were in touch with him but they advised they too were unable to contact him.

Gene was a very special person and a very dear friend. I will miss him...
