It is with deep regret and profound sorrow that we sadly announce the passing of Wallace Fulton, age 90 of Cades, South Carolina, who died Sunday, January 2, 2022 at the McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee in Florence, South Carolina.


Family members are receiving friends at 301 McClam Road, Cades, South Carolina. Masking and social distancing required upon visitation.


Graveside service for Wallace Fulton will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Highway 52 North, Kingstree, South Carolina where the Reverend Dr. Brian L. Williams, pastor of Greater Bethel AME Church, will deliver the Words of Comfort and the Interment will follow.

“I expect to pass through this world but once; therefore, any good that I have could have done or any kindness that I could of shown anyone, I did it. For I shall not pass this way again.”


Wallace Fulton, a son of the late Robert Fulton and Mary McFadden Fulton, was born on Sunday, December 13, 1931 in Kingstree, South Carolina. He answered the Lord’s call on Sunday, January 2, 2022 with one of his daughters by his side at the McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee in Florence, South Carolina. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a daughter, Mary Frances Fulton Glover; three brothers, Joe Louis Fulton, Marion Fulton, and Eugene Fulton; three sisters, Annie Mae Singletary, Dorothy Rush and Angie Johnson; a grandson, Justin LaShawn Fulton; and a son-in-law, Josh Major.


He received his formal education in the public schools of Williamsburg County.


Wallace accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and became a lifelong member of Greater Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church. He was a faithful member and was a former member of the trustee board.


“Jack”, as he was affectionately called, worked as a farmer for many years and was later employed by the South Carolina Department of Transportation of Williamsburg County where he worked for many years until he retired.


Wallace was united in holy matrimony to the former Millie Ann Hampton. This union was blessed with five children.


Those remaining to cherish his precious memories forever are a loving and devoted wife of sixty-seven years, Millie H. Fulton of the home; two loving and devoted daughters, Barbara F. Major and Genevieve Fulton, both of Cades, SC; three caring sons, Wallace L. (Wanda) Fulton, Jr. of Kingstree, SC, Tony T. Fulton of Blythewood, SC and Harold (Mamie) Cunningham of Sumter, SC; two grandsons reared as his own, DeVinci L. (Shemeka) Fulton of Blythewood, SC and Christopher (Nadine) Glover of Florence, SC; a sister, Magaline Brockington of Kingstree, SC; fourteen additional grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; a great, great grandchild; two sisters-in-law, Mary Hampton of Cades, SC and Lillie Mae Brown of Florence, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
