I met Wally in the early 1980's at an appraisal course. I always spoke with him at appraisal meetings, classes and whenever I stopped into the East Hartford town hall to do an appraisal. He was a great guy and I was really surprised when I saw the obituary on-line. I was away on vacation last week so I was unable to attend the services. I extend my deepest condolences to all of Wall's family and friends.
Warmest Regards,
Fred Harrington

Dear Sandy & family,
although we never met, I feel like I know you through Wally. He was my "buddy" while we worked together in Middletown. He spoke of you often and with kindness. We had many laughs together and shared recipes. He would often quote Bob Dylan lyrics that made me laugh! Please know that he was well liked in the City of Middletown!

I send my deepest sympathy to Wally's family and friends. I have been Wally's hairstylist for the past 30 yrs or so at the Razors Edge. I have been blessed to have gotten to know Wally and conversed with him as a friend as well as a customer! He shared many wonderful stories of his wife whom he adored and always spoke highly of, and his step son Adam who he was always very proud of. Wally had a super smile and sincere heartfelt personality. He was a man who would always be the there for people if they needed anything. I will miss our time visiting while he gets his haircut. My heart was saddened to hear of his death. God Bless my friend Wally and his family! He will never be forgotten by ANYONE at the Razors Edge, especially me!

"Wally; Kind, gentle, always had a kind word for everyone around him. One of the most engaging personalities you would ever want to meet. He was never to busy to to ask how your day was going.
People who knew him, and who worked around him, such as myself, are a little better for having known him."

My sister called me today to tell me about Wally. I've had 2 strokes and couldn't remember who he was. We went to high school together, so I looked him up in our yearbook and as soon as I saw his picture I remembered him. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, but know he is now in a much better place.

Am so sorry to hear of Wally's passing. We worked together in New Haven and shared many tales of restaurants and recipes. Also, he had great taste in music...the only person I knew that could recite all the lyrics to any Dylan song.

Wally and I were close friends for many years. His intellect and sensitivity always so impressed me. Time and geography allowed a distance to take place, but there was always the tug of a string connected, the knowing, and reminding, that he was with his beautiful wife Sandy, and surrounded by his dear friends, and with the special appreciation he had for the natural and sometimes subtle things in his surroundings. We will deeply miss him, and perhaps be able, someday, to reel that string back in. John and Elke

I went to high school with Wally. He always stood out because of his kindness. Another talent he had was the ability to do automotive body work. He repaired my car for me. RIP Wally, you were one of the better and gentler among us.

It is to bad that Wally died, but he is no longer suffering. He'll be missed by many people including me. I knew he was suffering a bit but didn't realize how much it was hurting him. I'm sure his bride and his boat and the folks that knew him will miss him teribly. I no I will.
Best Regards:
