WALLACE EDWARD NORSWORTHY, 87 OAK GROVE, LOUISIANA Cox Funeral Home Oak Grove, Louisiana OAK GROVE, LA - Funeral services for Wallace Edward Norsworthy, age 87 an accountant of Oak Grove, Louisiana, will be held at 2 PM on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oak Grove, Louisiana. Father Richard Norsworthy & Father Joe Kallookalam will officiate. Graveside service will follow with full Marine Corp honors at Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove. Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove. A time of visitation with the family will be held from 2 to 7 PM on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Cox Funeral Home 200 East Noble Street, Oak Grove. Rosary service will be held at 7 PM on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Grove. Mr. Norsworthy passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Mr. Norsworthy was a longtime resident and businessman of Oak Grove, Louisiana, where he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church & a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was an accountant by profession and owned West Carroll Office Supply and Radio Shack. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Wallace served as a Sergeant with the First Marine Division where he participated in the Inchon Landing and later survived the Chosin Reservoir campaign. He moved to Oak Grove in 1959. He was a member and Past President of the Oak Grove Lions Club; Past President of the West Carroll Dixie Youth Baseball; Past President of the Quarterback Club and Past President of the Oak Grove Band Boosters. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Joan Mary Norsworthy; daughter, Beverly Norsworthy Hodgkins and his parents, Dwight Norsworthy & Easterley Loe Norsworthy. He is survived by son, Father Richard Norsworthy of Zwolle, Louisiana; son and daughter-in-law, Steve & Pam Norsworthy of Vacaville, California; daughter and son-in-law, Dianne & Eddie Gregory of Oak Grove, Louisiana; daughter, Barbara Dotie of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy & Lynn Menard of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; daughter, Sister Sandra Norsworthy of Moreauville, Louisiana; daughter, Sister Linda Norsworthy of Alexandria, Louisiana; son, Michael Norsworthy of Oak Grove, Louisiana; step sister and her husband, Pat & Walter Russell of Nashville, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren & numerous nieces & nephews. Pallbearers are: Kenneth Gregory, Ryan Gregory, David Keller, Robby Brumfield, Jacob Norsworthy & Jessie Kitchens.
