Not sure what to say?

He actually did the things so many of us only thought about. I am proud to have known him and wish I had known him better. Who he was and his many accomplishments must be of great comfort to his family and friends. Sounds trite but true, especially in his case. Blessings!

So sorry to learn of Wally's passing and his wife Elizabeth in 2016. He was a high school classmate and I think the only other 1959 BHS classmate who lived for many years in Vermont. His accomplishments were extraordinary.

Wally & friends, 1947 Ford in progress

Wally, maybe 3, our 1940 Ford

My thoughts and prayers are with Wally's family during this very sad and difficult time. As the Town Clerk in Williamstown I got to know Wally well and his beautiful dog Max. Wally was a very intelligent man. Thank you for your support in me as Town Clerk and all you did for the Williamstown community.

Bronxville High School 1959

My condolences to Wally's family; you can smile and be proud of his achievements. He certainly left his mark on the world. Reading his obituary, it is amazing what he accomplished on the long road from our halcyon high school days.

One recollection is of Wally, living 8 houses away, pursuing preteen outdoor life of suburbia. Walking to school together, we might both be sneezing or coughing, I would have a cold (RN and MD parents) and Wally nothing (Mary Baker Eddy perspective). That faith seemed manifest in his positive, enthusiasm for life. He later credited Vipassana meditation practice in his recovery success.
Made up names (his was) Moses Wall', Sunday night smoky card games, school activities that included...

We will miss having this great soul and friend in our midst. I had just remarked that I hadn't' run into Wally for a while and was going to contact him for a visit when my husband showed me the obituary. It's a sad day. Our condolences and loving thoughts to his family and friends.
We rejoice at having known him and Elizabeth and family.
