Not sure what to say?

It was really sad getting the call telling me of Wally's death. My sympathy to all of you. I have great memories of Wally (and the whole Wheeler family) from living many years just up the road. Wally and I had a lot of fun together, and I always appreciated his friendship and kindness during those years in Ashland. It was great seeing him again at our 50th class reunion in 2007 (and I'd be happy to share some pictures from that, if you'd like them; my email is [email protected])....

Wally was a true friend of our family. He and my brother grew up together and Wally joined our family on vacations. Wally was always easy going and a very good friend. He was an outstanding man and will be missed deeply. My sympathy to the entire family.
Lynell (Field) Schoening

Being at Wally's services, seeing the photos, and sharing with the family and friends was a true blessing. Wally was one of those "always" friends and I'll treasure those forever. He brightened the hearts of all he touched and he will be missed.

I knew Wally at UIS and really respected him. He was always so friendly and helpful.

Wally was a special friend for over 35 years and we will miss him. We had lunch fo several years after retirement. One thing I will remember about Wally is his courage and positive attitude. He was a true friend.

I was very sorry to hear of your loss. Wally was one of Jack's best buddies, and I considered him a good friend also. We all shared lots of Ashland memories. Although I will not be able to attend the services, I send you my sincerest condolences.

It seems as if Wally and I, and the rest of the guys, must have played a million baseball, softball and basketball games. He was a great classmate, teammate and friend. It's so hard to accept the fact that he is gone. I'll miss him greatly. My best to his family.

Lonnie, Walt, Joyce, Wanda and family,
Wally and I began school together at Farmingdale and rejoined in high school for awhile. I can't tell you how sorry I am to learn of his death. I had hoped that he had beaten the odds. He looked so good at our 50th class reunion last year. My deepest sympathy and prayers are with all of you.

Lisa and family: So sorry to learn of the loss of your dad. I will miss his friendly manner at all of the girl's sporting events. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
