Not sure what to say?

Doctor Wheeler was my doctor since 1957 until his retirement. "Doc" made numerous house calls to treat me when I was a child. He told about his time in the marching band at University of Michigan. In 1974, when I was recruited to U of M to play football, "Doc" joined his old bandmates for a band reunion in Ann Arbor. He made the effort to contact me (sans cell phone) so we could enjoy dinner together at one of his favorite local restaurants. He and his wife also attended my 50th...

Dr Wallace always asked why I had moved back to Coachella. He said, "An educated person like yourself deserves more then working at a retirement community. You can do better". I miss you my friend and our daily chats. I miss Muriel too!

I wish to publicly thank all the people who loved and thought so much about my husband Wallace G. Wheeler (Wally). There were the nurses and helpers at Eisenhower Hospital, Manor Care, the caregivers from Alternative Caregiving Solutions, the Visiting Nurses Association as well as condolences from friends and former patients and people who took the time to sign the Desert Sun Guest book and who attended his service. I wish to also thank the Riverside County Board of Supervisors for the...

Thanks to everyone for your kind words, messages and great memories. Doc did have a long and wonderful life.

Hi Muriel. My name is Joe. Wally use to come into the gym almost everyday after work for his daily workout. I often thought of writing a book titled, "Conversations with a Doctor". Within a 30 minute period Wally and I had managed to solve all of the world's problems. Sometimes Wally would talk about his children with great admiration and often talked about his love for you. He mentioned that you would sometimes give him a hard time about slouching. He often pushed me to continue my...

I can remember cruising around in the back seat of my folks 1953 Chevrolet and playing with an old (what I thought as empty) Schick razor blade dispenser. I must have flicked the blade release lever back and forth 100 times and then suddenly a blade slide out and sliced my 5 year old thumb wide open. My Mom was so calm about it but I was freaking out as you can imagine. Blood was going all over the place. She calmly took me down to our family Dr. in downtown Indio (so funny cause in 1957, ...

Dr. Wheeler you were a wonderful Doctor to me and my girls and you will surely be missed. Every time I eat butter (not often) I think of you, you said if you eat butter you need to run a mile and I do sometimes :) Say Hi to my niece Yvette. God Bless

Dear Muriel and family and friends. I offer my sympathy to all of you. Doc Wheeler was a great asset to all of Coachella Valley through his years of service in the medical profession. Also, he touched the lives of so many people sharing his great musical talents. We have wonderful memories of all the Lions Club productions he directed which my late husband, Roger and my children and I had the opportunity to sing in. I also enjoyed doing the make-up for years in the show. Everyone loved to...
