Not sure what to say?

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

I learned so much about my new hometown when I moved here 12 years ago by listening to Walt's show. His genuine love of this town and the people that live here was always apparent. He was patient with everyone he talked to and always interested in learning something new. He enriched the lives of so many people.

My dad was a cousin to Walt Bodine. My Grandma was Lillian Bodine. I remember Walt bringing the whole family to family picnics in the park. He always had a story to share and was interested in everyone's life. One time he took my sisters and I to the WHB studio while he did Night Beat. I thought that was so cool being around 12 yrs old at the time. I send condolences to your family and will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. - Norma Richardson

A long time listener, thanks Walt for comfortable and enlightened entertainment. Our best to Tom, David and the whole family.

I remember Walt from my early childhood and of course the years since. A friendly legend

"And what do you say to that?" will be missed by many who enjoyed many years listening to the voice of this gentle man. RIP my friend!

Our thoughts are with all the Bodines and the vast friends Walt had developed over what can only be described as one amazing life. He was a good friend of my parents. I am sure somewhere the spirits of Walt and Bernie and those of my parents are are having a hell of a time.

When I think of Kansas City; I think of Walt Bodine. I returned briefly to K.C. in the mid 90's and ran into Walt at Dixon's Chile Parlor in Independence. Walt signed a menu for me and it says simply, "Welcome Home." It hangs framed in my office here in Texas and is one of my precious mementos.

Walt often ate lunch at Bob Ford's Restaurant at 68th and Troost when I was a waitress back in the 70s. He was always friendly, smiling and polite. It left a lasting impression on me and when I heard his name it made me smile.

May God be with the family at this time.
